Suffolk County includes western destinations such as Huntington as well as the North Fork and the Hamptons farther east. A single county name does not establish a delivery plan. Give the concierge the town, dates and address so the inquiry reflects the actual distance and occasion.

For an East End stay, include where the car will be kept, who will travel in it and whether collection is planned at the house, a hotel or another agreed location. The Hamptons collection provides vehicles to discuss for Suffolk itineraries; availability, driver requirements and delivery arrangements remain specific to your request.

Suffolk County, Long Island is the perfect place to rent a luxury or exotic car for a special occasion. Brands like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, and G-Wagon are available. You can choose to drive yourself or hire a chauffeur. To rent one of these cars, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license, a credit card, and your own full-coverage insurance. Daily rates start around $500.

The first thing to think about is the type of experience you want to have. You may be looking for luxury and comfort, or you may want to feel the power and speed of a sports car. The Lamborghini Huracan, Ferrari Roma, McLaren 720S and Bentley Continental GT are some of the top sports cars that can be rented on Long Island.

As for age, under New York law rental companies have to rent to licensed drivers 18 or older, but you may have to pay an additional fee if you are younger than 25. The amount of the extra charge varies between companies.

You will also need a credit card in your name, and it must match the name on the license. New York state law does not require a credit card to rent a car, but without one, screening you can take several days, and you may need to put down a cash deposit. Check with the rental location about its specific requirements.

These days a 1-day rental of something cool like a Corvette C8 or Porsche 911 is probably going to run you around $500. An Urus or G-Wagon will cost more like $800-$1,500 for the day, while Rolls Royce Cullinans or Ferrari SF90’s start at around $1,500 and can go up to over $3,000.

The longer you rent a car, the cheaper it gets per day. Weekly rates are usually 15-25% less than daily rates, and monthly rentals save even more. That makes long-term rentals popular with business travelers, content creators, and seasonal visitors who want to explore the area at their leisure.

The real sticking point when renting a luxury or exotic vehicle is going to be insurance. This may come as a surprise to anyone who has driven a beater for years and been able to just buy the cheapest option. There are a lot of exotic rental outfits, and some simply do not provide any insurance at all. They want you to bring proof of your own full-coverage policy that extends to rental cars typically worth $200,000+. But New York car policies do all provide some rental damage insurance unless you opted out of that. The state’s minimums also do not have enough property damage coverage. That minimum is $10,000 per accident, and an exotic rental car is worth far more.

Under New York law, rental companies cannot refuse to rent to you just because you decline their extra insurance. Supplemental Liability Protection is sold at the counter, and it usually gives $1 million of coverage.

Under the federal Graves Amendment, passed in 2005, rental companies cannot be held liable for your car accidents just because they owned the car. That does not mean you get a free ride, though. Even the Graves Amendment does not protect rental companies from their own negligence.

In New York State a damage waiver can be no more than $15 per day for cars priced from $35,000 to $50,000, at least until June 30, 2028. It works differently for luxury and exotic cars. There is no daily cap for cars with an MSRP of over $50,000, and most exotics cost much more. For cars over $50,000 the charge is based on the car’s fair market value. Something else to check before you sign is how much the rental company is charging for a damage waiver.

You still may end up paying some money if you damage a rental. If you have to pay for it at all the maximum bill will be whichever is lower: the cost to fix the damage or the car’s fair market value just before the damage, minus any salvage. If you are faced with such a bill, remember that it cannot include charges for “loss of use.”

Picking up your car is usually part of the excitement of renting a luxury or exotic car. On your big day you show up at the rental lot, get a thorough walk-around of your dream car, and take the keys. If you would rather not make the trip, delivery is usually offered for an added fee to the five boroughs and select locations in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Your rental is a perfect choice for everything from weddings to birthdays, anniversaries to date nights. Many people rent them for photoshoots or music videos. You can choose to drive yourself for the thrill of piloting a high-end performance machine that is unlike anything you get on a normal day. If you prefer to concentrate on enjoying the company you keep, chauffeur service is available.

Insurance and Security Deposits

Most people see their insurance as nothing more than an annoying annual bill. They pay it, get their cards, and file it away. Then they wonder what, if any, coverage they have when something unexpected happens. So call your insurer to confirm that your coverage will extend to an exotic rental. There is usually a security deposit, held on your credit card, for the length of the rental. Additional drivers follow the same minimum age and license rules. Everyone who is going to get behind the wheel has to be added to the rental agreement.

Questions, answered plainly

Before you book.

Discuss your dates, preferred car and proposed arrangements with your concierge before confirming a booking.

Ask your concierge
Can I inquire about a Suffolk rental outside the Hamptons?

Yes. Submit the town, address and dates for your Suffolk trip, including western Suffolk or the North Fork where relevant. The concierge will need those details to discuss whether the requested arrangements are possible.

Why does this page use the Hamptons collection?

It offers a starting point for discussing cars for a Suffolk County itinerary. It does not mean a vehicle is stored at your destination or available on your dates; the exact car and handover must be confirmed.

What details help with a Suffolk weekend or longer stay?

Include the full date range, passenger and luggage needs, overnight parking address and planned return location. If you expect longer drives or a change of destination, ask about those plans before agreeing to the rental.
